Welcome!! CORK / Sail Kingston is running more than a dozen regattas this year and we would like your help.
Volunteers are welcome to help with any of the listed regattas for the entire duration or just for a few days.
There is something for everyone, recording finishes on the committee boat, tracking competitors leaving the harbour , writing press releases, lots of stuff.
There is an on-line application form to fill out and let us know about you or to let us know that you are coming back this year. There are also brief descriptions of our volunteer job categories below.

CORK/SAILKINGSTON VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
The following are general descriptions of tasks. For more complete information, contact the CORK office. If you would like to help out with CORK but are unsure what to volunteer for, let us know and we will be happy to help you explore options.
| ASHORE TASKS:Information and administration - Assist at information desk with regatta information and general information about Kingston - Assist with daily volunteer registration - Assist with lunch distribution - Assist with general office tasksCORK International- Help organize youth sailors with coaches - Help organize seminars for the youth sailorsAwards Ceremonies- Check quantities and engraving of awards - Set-up area for awards - Co-ordinate with results department for winner sheets - Keep awards in order for presentationJury Secretary - Set-up jury desk Social Equipment - Inventory control (maintain records of equipment signed out and returned) First Aid - Assist with basic first aid treatments (appropriate training required) Registration - Enter registration information into a computer Results - Enter race result into computer Media - Interview sailors, volunteers etc. |
Able Sail - Launch and rig Martin 16s - Assist sailors in and out of boats - Provide dock support for launching and mooring - Provide on-shore assistance for sailors - Coaching for the training camp - Welcome committeeBoat Launch-Assist sailors with boats going in and out of the water - Assist in traffic control on the road, both cars and boats on dollies - Retrieve dollies around the harbour area in preparation for the end of the days races - Assist sailors getting their boats off the dollies so others may use themSeagulls- Record sail numbers of assigned fleet both going out and coming from the lakeEvent Communications - Maintain communications with all on water activities ON WATER TASKS: Race Committee Several different jobs are available on a Race Committee boat Boat Owners Boats are required for the following areas: Deck Hand Safety Boat Crew |
