It is with the greatest regret that the CORK Board of Directors forwards this notice of the passing of Ila Colborne on Thursday this week. Ila was an exceptional volunteer. She helped with results and registration and then when CORK was at a low ebb took over running the office – phone calls, email, coordination with book keeper … Just what was needed. She performed all these duties in a no-nonsense, straight forward and friendly manner. She almost never arrived at the office without a cup of Timmies for everyone she thought would be there. She will be greatly missed.
COLBORNE, Ailwen ‘Ila’ – Entered into rest on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 in her 82nd year at the Kingston General Hospital. Ila Colborne (née Jenkins) was predeceased by her parents Tom and Liz Jenkins and 2 brothers Del and Mike Jenkins. Mother of Fred Stephenson and his wife Karen and her beloved grandson Shaun. Aunt Ila to Greg, Marty, Gordy and Del Jr. Jenkins and to Michael, Pat, Megan, Paul and John Stephenson and the late Tanya. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date as was her request.
